Postseason Glee

Written by: Peter Coolbaugh

While we are all sad the Orioles are not in the playoffs, although no one alive expected us to be, it is time to examine the final 4 teams that still remain.

Texas Rangers - just won their first playoff series ever. Well coached and well rounded team. Cliff Lee is your ace so that gives you an edge. Would love to see this club go the distance and get some respect. Nolan Ryan is your owner and you know how competitive he is.

NY Yankees - same club. Always in the post season. Love them or hate them. Aging at many positions. Could be their final run for a while. Hope they drop out quick.

Philadelphia Phillies - dumb, redundant name. Been to the NLCS now for three straight years. Roy Halladay is as good as an pitcher has been ever. Great ballpark. Nasty fans. Would love to seem them flop and go home for good. Their time in the sun is over.

San Francisco Giants - finally, a Giants team I can root for. No Barry! And since they have not won a WS since moving from New York in 1957, I make them my NL choice. Scrappy players mixed with great pitching is a good combination.

My hopeful picks this year. San Fran vs. Texas. Not a ratings masterpiece matchup, but would be a breath of fresh air.

Now sit back and enjoy what is left of the baseball season.
