Pie in the Sky

Written by: Anna C.

Hopefully we'll see something greater, because Felix Pie is sure not doing anything to impress O's fans right now. Yes, his fielding skills are decent and he seems to make a notable catch in each game, but at what cost? It seems that for each good catch, he erases the value of that out by committing some ridiculous base-running error.

Last night was no exception. Not once, but twice did Pie appear to commit little-leaguer type mistakes. Luckily, the first time did not cost a run, as he confusedly jogged off of second towards first and then back to second base again in the fourth inning. The second time though was a big out, when he did not pay attention to the fact that Justin Morneau had caught the pop up in the sixth and Pie was thrown out after trying to tag up and advance to third.

I know Pie is young and mistakes happen, but when the O's lose such close games every night, it is hard not to point fingers. Makes me miss Huff (though I seem to be the only one!)...
