Sunday Cruddy Sunday

Written by: Peter Coolbaugh

It really stinks not being able to close out out a series with a win. It is twice as difficult to swallow when it is the local rivals who also happen to be the worst team in all baseball. The god-awful Bugs got a win yesterday when really they should have been squished in the last interleague game of the year.

Bad base running and pitching miscues doomed us again. So after a sweep of the Phillies and then getting swept by the Marlins, I hoped to take all three from this crummy franchise, but alas, I should have realized it was Sunday and we just don't win on the 7th day.

This evening, we will be invaded by the worst fans around. Yes, you heard me. They are worse than NY, Philadelphia, and other rowdy city folk. Boston people are the rudest and most annoying fans I have ever encountered, and I have been to a lot of MLB cities and venues. Combine their stupidity and loudness with the nutty accents (Which way to the pahhhhhk?) and it makes me want to scream. Seriously, it does.

They in addition to the New Englanders who don't know any better and support the SAWX out of sheer local devotion, you have the bandwagon fans who have since hopped on since 2003. It is enough to make your blood boil especially when you see how they are currently perched in first place. Let me say this once, and I don't do this often, I really hope the Yankees win the division this year. Anybody, and I do mean anybody but Boston.

Stealing two out of three would be a blessing over the next 3 days. And it will send the chowdah-eating stooges home with egg on their face. Come on Birdland, get behind our team!
